In a bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs and MILKMAID together.
Fold in flour and baking powder and mix well. Add lemon rind and raisins and mix again.
Grease and flour a cake tin and line with sliced almonds. Pour the batter over the almonds. Bake at 175°C for 45 - 50 minutes, until cake is golden yellow.
