You will need

  • MILKMAID 1 small tin
  • Flour 250g
  • Fresh Ginger paste 2 tsp
  • Butter 80g
  • Eggs 2
  • Baking soda 1 ½ tsp
  • Caramel Syrup ½ cup
  • To prepare Caramel Syrup
  • Sugar 3 tbsp

Let’s make it

Step 1
Grease a loaf tin and dust with flour. Heat oven at 160⁰ C
Caramel Syrup:
Step 1
Heat 3 tbsp sugar in a pan till it melts. Continue heating till all the syrup turns brown.
Step 2
Add ½ cup of hot water and bring to a boil.
Step 3
Remove from fire. Strain and cool.
Ginger bread:
Step 4
Sift flour and soda together.
Step 5
Mix MILKMAID, butter, caramel syrup, ginger, and the lightly beaten eggs together.
Step 6
Add sifted flour mixture and beat lightly to mix well.
Step 7
Pour into the greased cake tin and bake for 45 - 50 minutes in a preheated oven.
Step 8
Remove the bread from the tin, allow to cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
Step 9
Slice and serve hot with butter.
