Let’s make it

Step 1
Prepare the Spice Mix: In a small mortar and pestle, lightly crush the cardamom pods, cloves, black peppercorns, and cinnamon stick to release their flavors.
Step 2
Boil the Spices and Water: In a saucepan, add the crushed spices, sliced ginger, and water.
Step 3
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.
Step 4
Add Tea Leaves: Add the black tea leaves (or tea bags) to the simmering spice mixture.
Step 5
Let it simmer for an additional 3–5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
Step 6
Add sweetened condensed milk to the saucepan.
Step 7
Stir well to combine and heat the mixture until it's hot but not boiling.
Step 8
Taste and add sugar if desired, stirring until fully dissolved.
Step 9
Serve: Remove the saucepan from heat.
Step 10
Strain the tea into cups to remove the spices and tea leaves. Serve hot, and enjoy the rich, spiced flavor of your homemade masala chai.
