Preheat the oven to 180°C, grease a 4x6 inch cake tin, dust it with flour and keep aside.
Mix milk, curd, chopped dates and keep aside. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and MILKMAID; add the flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda.
Fold both mixtures together and beat well, adding the vanilla essence and chopped cashew nuts. Pour into the lined cake tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. Slice and serve.
